Video: ‘My team, always will be’ – Spurs coach reveals his love for the club

Chris Powell has spoken of his pride at being named as interim assistant head coach for the remainder of the season.

Daniel Levy’s decision to part company with Jose Mourinho and his backroom staff saw the Spurs chairman appoint Powell to assist Ryan Mason.

Having joined the club’s academy in a senior role as Head of Coaching last summer, Powell is now helping Mason with first-team duties until the end of the season.

Powell, who has managed the likes of Charlton Athletic, Southend United and Huddersfield Town during his career is a boyhood Tottenham fan who used to watch from the stands of White Hart Lane as a child where he idolised Steve Archibald.

The 51-year-old revealed that Spurs will always be the club closest to his heart and is focused on ensuring that the side can finish the season in the best way possible as they look to secure a place in Europe.
