Video: Ndombele’s reaction after goal shows he is a winner

Tottenham were made to work hard by Aston Villa in their first fixture of the new Premier League campaign as they needed a late flourish to get the better of the newly-promoted side.

Spurs new boy Tanguy Ndombele announced himself to the home crowd with a brilliant goal in the second half.

It was the 23-year-old’s strike that was arguably the most crucial of the game and gave Spurs the momentum to go on to win it.

The club have now posted a video of Ndombele’s strike from a different angle that shows how the new Tottenham signing and his teammates reacted when the ball sailed into the back of the net.

Most interesting was Ndombele’s decision not to celebrate the goal, but to brush it off and head back to the halfway line to look for a winning goal. It’s exactly the mentality we need if we are to push for silverware this season.

What was brilliant to see about that was Ndombele’s reaction after the goal. While most people would have been tempted to celebrate after scoring on their debut, the 23-year-old was more concerned about getting the ball back quickly and scoring the winner, which shows his winning mentality.
