Tottenham Hotspur announced the season-long loan signing of Carlos Vinicius yesterday, with the Brazilian striker joining from Benfica for the 2020/21 campaign.
Vinicius finished as the Portuguese league’s top scorer last season with 18 goals, scoring 24 across all competitions for Benfica.
Reports suggest that Spurs are paying £2.7m to take the forward on loan for the season, with an option to make the deal permanent for £40.83m next summer (BBC).
Tottenham’s new goal machine sat down for his first interview with the club after signing, which was posted on the club’s Twitter account today:
“I’m very happy and thankful for this opportunity. It’s great to be here. I can’t wait to get to work.”
