Nuno Espírito Santo has insisted that Harry Kane needs to be ready for Tottenham Hotspur after guiding his side to an opening day Premier League win against Manchester City.
Kane was absent from the match day squad for the visit of the Premier League champions amid intense speculation over the past few weeks surrounding a potential move to the Etihad.
Heung-min Son stepped up to shoulder the goal scoring burden and once again delivered against City, in what was a spirited performance from the home team.
Nuno praised the quality of Kane, but insisted that he has to help the team.
