Video: Nuno talks player fitness and commitment after Orient friendly

Nuno Espirito Santo admitted to Spurs TV that he was delighted with the commitment his players showed during their 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient in their pre-season opener on Saturday.

As one would expect with games at the start of pre-season, the match was not played at a particularly high tempo, with both teams guilty of making several unforced errors in possession.

Dane Scarlett gave the away side the lead with a smart finish across the goalkeeper in the first half before substitute Ruel Sotiriou equalised for O’s in the 72nd minute.

Espirito Santo admitted that the physical demands on his players were quite tough since they had been worked hard over recent days, insisting that it will take time for their processes to come together.

One cannot read too much into the system or patterns of play Spurs employed against Orient as a lot of key players were missing and Nuno would not have had enough time to work on his processes. We will get a much better idea of the style the 47-year-old is going to implement in the other friendlies coming up over the next few weeks.
