Video: Oliver Skipp reacts to his 120-minutes against Norwich in first Mourinho start

Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp has admitted that he was pleased to hear Jose Mourinho praise his performance against Norwich City on Wednesday, but insisted that the result left him with a sour test in his mouth.

Skipp was handed a surprise start alongside Harry Winks and Giovani Lo Celso in midfield and the youngster proved why he is so highly-rated at the club with an industrious and competent display.

Not only was the 19-year-old perform excellently defensively, helping curb many Norwich attacks, but he also hardly gave the ball away during the game and showcased his excellent passing range.

Here’s what the midfielder said to Spurs TV about his own performance as well as the team’s disappointing result:

I was extremely impressed with the maturity the teenager showed in the middle of the park. Even after being cautioned for what I thought was a smart tactical foul to give way, I was never worried that he might do something reckless and get sent off. I thought Skipp showed that he has much more to offer defensively than Winks does.
