Video: On-loan Spurs midfielder bags two goals in as many minutes

Rewind twelve months and Luke Amos was given the opportunity to feature on Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season tour of the USA.

The Spurs academy graduate certainly made the most of the chance after catching Mauricio Pochettino’s eye across the pond and was rewarded with his Premier League debut on the opening day of the season after coming on as a substitute at Newcastle United.

However, his season came to a cruel end when in September he ruptured an anterior cruciate knee ligament playing for Spurs U23s against Blackburn which required surgery.

The 22-year-old was recently given the chance by QPR to spend the season on loan at the Championship side and has certainly recovered his pre-season form of last year.

Amos scored two goals in as many minutes earlier today when QPR beat Oxford United 2-1.

Opinion

It is great to see Amos back on the pitch after what must have been a difficult time having been on the cusp of Pochettino’s plans only for injury to curtail his chances.
