Video: Parrott provides assist on his international debut

Troy Parrott made his senior international debut for Ireland last night and certainly did not disappoint.

The 17-year-old Tottenham Hotspur academy product was named in Mick McCarthy’s side and provided an assist which saw Ireland go ahead for the first time in the 3-1 win against New Zealand.

With the score level at 1-1, Parrott played a simple pass into the path of Seani Maguire which allowed the striker to fire the ball into the top corner of the goal.

Parrott also went close on 59 minutes when his shot was saved well by Stefan Marinovic inside the penalty to deny the starlet of a dream debut.

He was replaced by Callum Robinson in the 63rd minute to give him an evening to remember at the Aviva Stadium.
