Video: Paul Merson believes Spurs star is best in the world in his position

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has described Harry Kane as the best forward in world football.

The 27-year-old played a key role in helping Tottenham return to winning ways against Aston Villa last night when he helped to unlock Dean Smith’s defence for the opener and got on the scoresheet in the second half from the penalty spot.

Merson claimed that Kane is the only footballer he knows who has all of the attributes that a forward needs.

The 52-year-old name-checked Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland for his goalscoring prowess, but believes Kane also has the passing ability is one of the reasons why he is the best around.

Kane has now scored 26 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season, while also delivering 16 assists (transfermarkt).
