Video: Plenty of Spurs fans will love what Ryan Mason did at the new stadium

Tottenham’s new stadium witnessed its first ever football match yesterday afternoon with John McDermott’s Under-18s beat Southampton 3-1.

It was an accomplished performance by Tottenham’s young guns in what was a historic occasion in the history of the club.

The game was the first of two test events and will be followed by a match between Tottenham legends and their Inter Milan counterparts next Sunday in front of an expected crowd of 45,000.

Former Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason, who is now part of the academy coaching set up took his place on the bench alongside McDermott. Mason made his way on to the pitch after the full-time whistle and was caught on camera reminding the under-18s to thank the 28,000-odd fans in attendance for the game for their support.
