VIDEO: Pochettino’s post match press conference vs Arsenal

Mauricio Pochettino and Arsene Wenger gave their verdicts on Saturday after Tottenham came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1 at White Hart Lane.

The Spurs boss was delighted with the performance of his players and equally pleased for what the win means to the fans in the North London derby.

Pochettino told the press: “I think that it is special because we talk about a special game – the derby. That means three points against Arsenal for our supporters and for our players too. I think that we played with our brains because we play very well. We showed like a team, passion and emotion and this is important for me to recognise this energy.”

“I think Harry today showed that he is a great player, great performance. But my idea is he can improve. Still can improve and we need to push him to develop his potential because his potential is massive. But it’s true that today he was fantastic performance.”

Wenger was his typical self: Well we defended well. We scored early. But I think that going forward we didn’t produce enough. It was a rare time when we went forward, we looked always dangerous to score. Were we too focussed to defend our goal? I think so. I believe as well that we made as well too many technical mistakes compared to our level because of Tottenham especially in the middle of the park put us under pressure and we lost some balls that we’re not used to lose.”

“It’s worrying at the back with five minutes to go, we always are there to make the same mistakes.”
