Video: Pundit claims that Harry Kane will leave Tottenham

Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley has claimed that Harry Kane will leave Tottenham Hotspur potentially at the end of next season.

Burley now fills his time as a football pundit for ESPN and believes that Kane’s future in North London may depend on whether Mauricio Pochettino decides to remain at the club following the disappointing Champions League final defeat to Liverpool.

Pochettino’s future at Spurs has been the subject of some uncertainty in recent weeks and once again refused to commit his future to the club following the match in Madrid (Express).

It is a bold claim by Burley to state that Daniel Levy would leave two of his most influential people leave the club and one which many fans will take with a pinch of salt.

“I can see Harry Kane going but not this summer,” Burley told ESPN as quoted in the above video.

“I think depending what happens with [Pochettino] will have a big bearing.

“Harry Kane will leave Tottenham, I’ll be surprised if that doesn’t happen, for big money.

“But I think another full season or thereabouts and full season fit and then Tottenham at some point will have to cash in.

“He’s going to force their hand at some point.”

Burnley believes the Pochettino will start the season in North London but will leave if the club do not match his ambitions.

“I think if he goes the cards start to come down a little bit and they collapse,” Burley added.

“I can see Pochettino doing another year.

“I can see some protracted conversations with Daniel Levy, maybe some promises about money, maybe some false promises.

“And then the season starts, he doesn’t get what he wants, gets annoyed and then looks to get himself out at some point.

“I think he will still be in charge when the season starts.”
