Referee Peter Bankes has given an interview to Sky Sports about why Tottenham vs Burnley was postponed this afternoon.
The match was called off due to heavy snowfall at Turf Moor and even though the grounds staff worked hard to clear it, they were not able to save the 2 PM kickoff.
Bankes has now revealed that within ten minutes of clearing one part of the pitch, the snow was back on the field, leaving the refereeing team with no choice but to postpone the game.

Spurs Web Opinion:
Player safety has to come first. I did wonder whether the game could be played later this evening if the snow stopped and the undersoil heating was used, but I suppose the Premier League did not want to take the risk of asking fans to stick around for no reason.
