Video: Robbie Keane defends Daniel Levy from fan criticism

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane has leapt to the defence of chairman Daniel Levy.

Keane believes that Levy has done unbelievable things for the North London club since ENIC bought a majority stake from Lord Sugar back in 2000 (Guardian).

Levy has overseen the club transform their facilities with a state of the art stadium and training ground but has come in for criticism from some fans who have been unhappy with the failure to match the spending of their Premier League rivals.

The ex-Republic of Ireland international has insisted that Levy deserves credit for his work in N17 and tipped the 58-year-old to back Jose Mourinho with funds in the upcoming transfer window to help end the long wait for silverware.

Reports had claimed that a group of Spurs fans had arranged for a plane to fly over the stadium during the North London derby against Arsenal yesterday featuring a banner which read  “#ENICAndLevyOutNow” (Telegraph).
