Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has spoken to talkSPORT about the Welshman’s love for Spurs and has backed the Lilywhites to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
Bale enjoyed tremendous success during his time with Real Madrid, helping the side to win a whole host of trophies including an incredible four Champions League titles (transfermarkt.com).
However, his relationship with the club, as well as the Real Madrid fans, soured during the final two years in the Spanish capital.
The 31-year-old was often a firm target of the Spanish press, even being accused of not integrating well to life in Madrid or being unable to speak Spanish (Goal.com).
Barnett rubbished those suggestions and insisted that none of those attacks on Bale had any merit at all.
He admitted that his client had a difficult time over the last two years and admitted his delight in seeing Bale happy again now that he is back in familiar surroundings.

It is fair to say we have seen more pictures of Bale smiling in training for the last couple of days at Spurs than we did during his last two years at Madrid. Based on what Barnett is saying, it seems like the Welshman is certainly in a much happier place now. Hopefully, that will translate to improved performances on the pitch.
