Video: Sheringham takes funny dig at Arsenal while predicting top four

We are now just a few days away from the start of the new Premier League season. Tottenham Hotspur will begin their season with a home game against newly-promoted Aston Villa on Saturday.

Going into the season, most pundits don’t expect Tottenham to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool for the title but the Lilywhites are being backed to once again finish in the top four.

Former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Teddy Sheringham was the latest person to be asked to predict next season’s top four.

In an event conducted by the Football Writer’s Association, Sheringham said he expected the race to be tight as Spurs, Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal all have their own problems.

The 53-year-old also took a dig at the Gunners proving that he is still a Spurs man at heart. Watch the video below:

While it is difficult to predict where teams will finish before the transfer window closes, the fact that Tottenham are one of the most settled sides in the top 6 will certainly do their prospects of finishing in the top four no harm. However, if Spurs wish to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the table, then they will need to add at least two more top signings before the transfer window shuts.
