Video: Simon Jordan takes issue with recent praise Gareth Bale has received

Simon Jordan has blasted those who are praising Gareth Bale for his performance against Burnley, insisting that the Welshman is just doing what was expected of him a long time ago.

Bale has endured a difficult few months since returning to Tottenham, with the appetite and hunger to perform at the top level being questioned.

The 31-year-old seems to be proving many of his critics wrong with the form he has shown over the last few weeks.

Jordan was certainly one of the harshest of Bale’s critics, claiming last month that the Tottenham star is ‘busted flush’ and questioning if he can still perform at the top level.

The former Crystal Palace owner has now insisted that he was right to say what he did about Bale previously and refused to give the winger credit until he sustains his current run of form.

Spurs Web Opinion

Most pundits on talkSPORT like to make sensationalist, click-bait statements to get eyeballs but Jordan is usually more sincere in his opinions. So, I am surprised to see him sticking to his guns despite being proven wrong.

The reality is that we cannot make sweeping statements about Bale’s struggles at Spurs as we do not know the reality of the fitness issues that the Welshman was dealing with on the back of barely playing any football for the last two years.
