Video: Sissoko on why Mourinho likes him and adding goals and assists to his game

Moussa Sissoko has claimed that the reason Jose Mourinho likes him is because of his willingness to always fight hard for the team.

Until recent weeks, Sissoko was a fixture in the Tottenham side, with the Spurs boss preferring to start the Frenchman alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in a double pivot.

However, the Portuguese coach has altered his tactics of late, starting Harry Winks over the former Newcastle man and even deploying Tanguy Ndombele in a deeper role against Sheffield United.

Sissoko was also deployed in a more attacking role in the 2-0 win over Brentford and the 1-1 draw against Fulham.

The midfielder admitted that he knows what his qualities are and that he will continue playing to his strengths, adding that he also wants to add goals and assists to his game.

Here’s what he told Sky Sports when asked why Mourinho likes him:

While Sissoko’s technique and vision leave a lot to be desired, he certainly possesses attributes that make him a decent option to have in the squad. However, we saw Sheffield United on Sunday that we are much more fluid in possession when we start Ndombele in a deeper role over Sissoko.
