Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Jose Mourinho is still prepared to give Dele Alli a chance to prove himself at Tottenham Hotspur and is deliberately challenging the midfielder at the moment.
Dele was left out of Mourinho’s squad for the recent matches against Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Southampton, but returned to the starting eleven for the 3-1 win at KF Shkendija on Thursday evening.
The England international was brought off after an hour with the score level at 1-1 with Spurs struggling to impose themselves on the match in the early stages of the second half.
Sheth insists that Tottenham’s stance is they do not want to sell the former MK Dons player during the current transfer window and raised the question of how will Dele react to Mourinho’s methods of trying to get him back to his best.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain had been linked with a potential season long loan deal for the 24-year-old, but are said to be prepared to withdraw from discussions after failing to reach a financial agreement with Spurs (Telegraph).
