Tottenham had 16 different stars out on international duty, from Harry Kane captaining England to Anthony Georgiou playing for Cyprus.
It therefore does not seem that unlikely that two of Tottenham’s first teamers would come up against each other through the international period.
And that was just the case yesterday, as South Korea took on Colombia, with Heung Min Son and Davinson Sanchez coming face to face.
What makes this even better is that Sanchez was forced to mark his Spurs teammate through large parts of the game, unfortunately letting him go as Son scored the opener.
But what Tottenham fans noticed more than Sonny’s goal was the reaction from Davinson.
Sanchez doesn’t know quite where Son is over his shoulder, and loses track of the Korean as he motors in behind and finishes, thanks to some questionable keeping.
Son wheels away to celebrate, and you can spot Sanchez turning around, confirming that it was Son, before turning away and stamping on the ground.
It looked as if Sanchez knew this was all he would hear about in training for the next week back at Spurs.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min goal which helped beat Davinson Sanchez’s Colombia.
Slick passing and great finish from Sonny.
This commentary will never get old when the Spurs attacker scores for both club and country.
