Video: Some Tottenham fans protest outside stadium against owners

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have gathered outside the stadium this afternoon to protest about the club’s owners over their failed plan to join the European Super League.

For some supporters, the reason to protest goes beyond the ESL breakaway, including the cost of tickets and the lack of consistent adequate investment into the first team compared to other clubs.

It is the second protest within the space of a month after a section of supporters voiced their discontent ahead of the Premier League match against Southampton.

Yesterday, interim head coach Ryan Mason claimed that the North London faithful are entitled to their opinion when asked about the protests while also praising Daniel Levy and the club’s board, having claimed they have ‘done incredibly’ for over a decade.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Embarrassing! We’ve only just completed one of the biggest transitions from mid size to larger club, with globally recognised facilities, and now significant recent financial growth in wages and ambition. (Being invited to the ESL is an incredible achievement and compliment considering we’ve never won EPL (or really got close) and only recently got anywhere in UCL). IMHO, the ESL was never going to really take off anyway.

I remember when there was actual fear of Spurs going into administration! It sounds like we are turning into one of our more entitled EPL rivals?
