Video: Souness identifies positions Mourinho will look to strengthen in January

Former Liverpool manager Graeme Souness has claimed that new Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho will be looking to bring in two new full-backs and a central midfielder in the January transfer window.

Spurs have clicked going forward since Mourinho’s arrival at the club last month with the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, and Son Heung-min getting back to their best form.

However, the team has looked defensively shaky in some games and have managed to keep only one clean sheet since the 56-year-old’s arrival.

Souness believes that the Portuguese manager might add a couple of players in January in order to solve the team’s defensive issues.

Watch what Souness said to Virgin Media Sport:

Spurs Web Opinion

While we have had some problems defensively, we are more than making up for it with the number of chances we are creating offensively. Mourinho has insisted that it will take time for him to improve the team’s defensive process and I believe he will be able to make us tight at the back in due course.
