Tottenham fell to a 2-1 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday courtesy of a late own goal by Toby Alderweireld, after Hugo Lloris made a bad mistake by failing to catch Salah’s cross and palming it on to the Belgian’s foot.

Spurs gave a good account of themselves throughout the game and were unlucky to come away with nothing from the match.

While the home side were the better team in the first half, Spurs dominated proceedings in the second half and got their equalizer through Lucas Moura.

The Lillywhites actually had several good chances to get the winner on the counter-attack, with the best one falling to Moussa Sissoko.

However, the midfielder who found himself in a great position got his finish horribly wrong. The miss actually looks even worse from the angle in which the traveling supporters would have witnessed it.

Here’s a video of the miss recorded by a Spurs fan from the away end:

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. After so many cases of brainless players and coaches in the club, we can safely conclude that football intelligence is an aspect that doesn’t come into consideration when Spurs employ a player or a coach.

  2. While Poch loyalty to players is to be admired his primary loyalty is to the club, and not individuals. Lloris, at present, is doing us no favours, and even though is club captain he should be “rested” for a few games.
While squad rotation is important we should be playing our best 11 for every remaining game….under age football will even agree that you send out your best eleven for every game. Tiredness— these lads are prime athletes and should cope admirably.
