Giovani Lo Celso comes away from the international break with a goal contribution to his name, having provided a fine assist from the corner flag for his teammate Nicolas Otamendi in the 1-0 win over Brazil today.
The Tottenham Hotspur man was linked with a move away from North London all summer, with Spain appearing to be a likely destination. However, Ange Postecoglou opted to keep hold of the 27-year-old for the meantime.
Things haven’t quite gone to plan for Lo Celso in the early stages of the season, though, with the midfielder only getting 83 minutes of game time under his belt across four appearances for Spurs so far this term (Transfermarkt).
Curiously, Lo Celso still manages to feature for World Cup winners Argentina fairly regularly, and this latest international break has seen the playmaker play a crucial role in a big win for his country.

Playing at the Maracana stadium today against Brazil, Argentina won the game 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal from Nicolas Otamendi. Lo Celso set up that match-winning goal in the 17th minute via a beautifully delivered corner.

Lo Celso played 70 minutes of the game before being replaced, but will surely be happy with his contributions in helping Argentina to a hugely important win in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
