Video: Spurs legend Robbie Keane insists Pochettino would not take Man Utd job

Robbie Keane has questioned why former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino would leave Paris Saint-Germain to come to Manchester United.

Pochettino, who has been linked with a return to Spurs in the recent past, is reported to be Man Utd’s number one target to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Some sources allege that the Argentine would be open to swapping Parc des Princes for Old Trafford immediately.

However, Keane questioned why the 49-year-old would leave PSG for United given the calibre of players that he is working with in the French capital.

The former Spurs striker claimed that Pochettino does want to return to the Premier League in the future but questioned whether the United job is as attractive to top managers as it once was.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think Pochettino has been eyeing up the United job for a long-time. He probably believes that he can be the man to restore the club to its former glory.

However, I am not sure he will walk out of PSG halfway through the season without winning the league and having a shot at the Champions League.

I personally hope United go for Ten Hag or Zidane as I can see Pochettino making them a force again if he gets the job.
