Video: Spurs-linked defender scores 30-yard screamer

Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Djed Spence once again made people sit up and take notice after scoring a stunning goal for Nottingham Forest.

The right-back, who is on loan from Middlesbrough picked up the ball from around 30 yards out with Forest trailing 1-0 against Queens Park Rangers and unleashed a powerful effort which dipped just under the crossbar to send the home fans into a frenzy.

Tottenham were reported to have had two bids rejected by Boro for the 21-year-old during the January transfer window, having fallen short of the Championship club’s £15million valuation (ESPN).

Spence’s performances have also caught the attention of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich (Fabrizio Romano / Here We Go podcast) while The Express had claimed that other top clubs in England and on the continent have sent scouts to watch him in action over recent months.

Bolstering the right wing-back position has to be a priority for Tottenham during the summer, however with Spence performing the way he has been in recent months, he is going to be a highly sought-after commodity.
