Video: Harry Kane backed to break record by Spurs team-mate

Tottenham duo Erik Lamela and Ben Davies were quizzed by former Hull and Sunderland midfielder David Meyler by the Premier League as part of their Ultimate Teammate segment.

The pair were asked to identify players who would come out on top for each key attribute including shooting, pace and passing.

While most of their answers were pretty interesting, the debate about the best shooter unsurprisingly revolved around two names – Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero.

The two players compared Kane’s attributes with the Argentine’s with Davies backing the Spurs striker to beat Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal record of 260.

Until about a year or so ago, I was confident that Kane will comfortably beat Shearer’s record if he stayed in the Premier League for the remainder of his career. However, he has picked up more than his fair share of injuries over recent years. He has to keep himself fit if he has any chance of reaching 260 goals.
