Video: Spurs take the lead against Rennes

Tottenham Hotspur have broken the deadlock after ten minutes of action against Rennes in their Europa Conference League group stage opener.

The goal came following a neat piece of interlinking play from the visitors which saw the returning Tanguy Ndombele use his trickery to keep the ball in play before Harry Kane released Lucas Moura down the right-hand side, the Brazilian drove forward and his ball across the box which looked to be in the path of Steven Bergwijn was turned into his own net by Loic Bade.

Ndombele’s flick will certainly have supporters talking about how they have missed his ability to make things happen on the ball, which was desperately lacking in Saturday’s defeat at Crystal Palace.

Spurs have looked the livelier of the two sides in the opening proceedings.
