Video: Spurs Women show Pochettino’s men how to score in style

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham have not made the best of starts to the season with the win against Southampton on Saturday helping ease the pressure that was building on the team.

In the matches against Newcastle United, Leicester City and Colchester United, the Spurs players struggled to create anything of note in the final third of the pitch.

The Spurs Ladies certainly showed their male counterparts how to find the back of the net with a beautiful goal against West Ham United at the weekend in a 2-0 win at the London Stadium.

Rianna Dean met Rosella Ayane’s pin-point cross with a powerful header to score the opening goal. A Lucy Quinn strike in the second half helped to secure the three points.

The victory made it two wins from three and took them to third in the table.

It is pleasing to see that at least one Tottenham team seems to adept at getting good crosses into the box. On a serious note, our delivery into the box from open play as well as from set paces has been poor this season and that is one area Pochettino’s men have to improve upon if they wish to compete for honours this season.
