Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn continued his recent impressive form for the Netherlands with a goal against Belgium yesterday.
The 24-year-old broke the deadlock in the 40th minute of the UEFA Nations League match when he picked up the ball from outside of the Red Devils’ penalty area and took a couple of touches before unleashing a right-footed piledriver that beat former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Louis van Gaal’s side went on to win the match 4-1, which saw former Spurs pair Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld both named in starting line up for the home side.
Bergwijn’s future at Tottenham has been the subject of speculation with the north Londoners said to be demanding €25 million (£21.4 million) and the player keen on a move to Ajax ahead of this winter’s World Cup in Qatar (ESPN).
An absolute ROCKET from Steven Bergwijn! 🚀
