talkSPORT presenter Darren Gough has suggested that Dele Alli has become sidetracked by off the field commercial activities.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder came in for heavy criticism for his performance in the 2-1 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday from the likes of Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Graeme Souness (Sky Sports).
The 23-year-old made a brilliant start to life at Tottenham having scored 28 Premier League goals in across his first two seasons in North London.
Dele has since suffered a recurring problem with his left hamstring over the past two years which has seen him sidelined on four separate occasions (Guardian).
With his form now suffering, Gough believes that the former MK Dons man now has to find a way to get back to his best.
“Because he’s a marketable lad, that’s possibly been a problem.” 📸
“You have to work it out yourself, he’s still a young kid.” 👊

While Dele’s form this season has not been up to standard, he has become somewhat of a scapegoat for the defeat at Liverpool considering that Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose were equally as bad at Anfield.
