Video: talkSPORT presenter gives his view on Christian Eriksen’s future at Tottenham

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has claimed that Christian Eriksen looks like he is on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur.

The Dane is out of contract at the Champions League finalists at the end of the season and has already stated his desire to seek a new challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

Eriksen played the full 90 minutes of last night’s 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League which was his first start since Jose Mourinho took charge.

Parlour emphasised with the fact that Eriksen’s lack of game time is hampering his performance regardless of the fact that he is still training on a regular basis with the first team.

Should Eriksen depart the club and become a free agent, Parlour believes that at 27 years of age it will be the playmakers most important contract from a financial perspective and could earn upwards of £300,000 at his next club.

Opinion

Eriksen has performed poorly since the start of the year, blaming a lack of match fitness is certainly no excuse. He played regularly last season and was still a disappointment.

It’s a shame that his career at Spurs looks likely to end on such a sour note after his excellent contribution to the club in previous years.
