Former Leeds United and England full-back Danny Mills believes that Kieran Trippier is taking a big risk in joining Atletico Madrid.
The Tottenham Hotspur right-back is said to be on the verge of completing a move to the La Liga side for a fee of £20 million (BBC).
Trippier started in the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in early June and subsequently admitted that he did not know if he would be at the North London club this season (BBC).
Mills, who appeared as a co-host on this morning’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT has claimed that Trippier could risk falling off the radar if he does not make a success out of the switch to Spain.
?♂️ “Is Atletico the right club for him?”
?“It may be a difficult move for him.”
? “He’s going to have to make it work or he’s going to slip off the radar.”
