Former Chelsea and Marseille striker Tony Cascarino has labelled Tottenham Hotspur’s actions over the past week as a PR disaster.
Chairman Daniel Levy took the decision to earlier this week to announce that he had cut the wages of 550 non-playing staff at the club for two months and furloughed others.
The latter will be allowed to claim 80 per cent of their wages from the government up to a monthly maximum of £2,500.
Cascarino believes that the decision stinks considering Tottenham’s financial strength as a top six side whilst also blasting Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis for their part in it.
“Even for the most loyal Spurs fan, it’s not been a very good week.”
“For PR, it’s an absolute disaster."
“It just felt so wrong, #THFC’s announcement this week.”@TonyCascarino62 wasn’t pleased with how Spurs acted this past week
