Japhet Tanganga once again caught the eye with an impressive display in Tottenham’s 2-1 win against Middlesbrough.
Two first half goals from Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela proved to be enough to set up a trip to Southampton in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Spurs dropped their intensity and performance in the second half but Tanganga was the standout player throughout the 90 minutes.
The 20-year-old academy graduate was making his second successive start and did not disappoint on the right side of defence.
He nearly got on the scoresheet when his shot narrowly went wide in the first half and created a number of good chances which his team mates were unable to finish.
Tanganga was named as the BBC Man of the Match and showed his gratitude to Jose Mourinho for showing faith in him whilst insisting he is ready to make the most of his opportunity.
"I'm grateful to the gaffer for trusting me."
