Football journalist David Ornstein has admitted that reports of Daniel Levy’s change of mind to allow Harry Kane to join Manchester City have taken both clubs by surprise.
The Sun claimed yesterday evening that the Spurs chairman was set for a £160million move to the Premier League champions after Levy had informed the striker on Friday of last week that he had agreed to let him join an English club.
It was suggested that Kane told guests of his delight of the switch to the Etihad at his brother and agent, Charlie’s wedding last weekend, which would see him sign a contract worth £400,000-a-week.
Ornstein, speaking as a guest on Sky Sports News’ Early Kick Off Show (23/7/21) revealed that is not the information which he has heard surrounding Kane’s future, believing the England international is irreplaceable in North London and is likely to remain at the club unless an outrageous bid is tabled, where it would be left to Fabio Paratici to try and find a solution.
⚪️ Harry Kane is ‘irreplaceable’ in Tottenham Hotspur’s mind.
⚪️ It’s most likely Daniel Levy resists Man City and holds on to Harry Kane. If the money gets outrageously high potentially there’s a deal to be done.
