Heung-min Son admitted that it was brilliant to return to winning ways after he played an instrumental role in Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 victory against Aston Villa.
The South Korean was the star of the show in a tense afternoon at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the North Londoners heading into the fixture having lost their previous three top flight fixtures in convincing fashion at the hands of Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Son created Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s opener in the first half and was also the player to thank after Villa defender Matt Targett scored an own-goal winner to earn Nuno Espirito Santo’s side a crucial victory ahead of the international break
The 29-year-old admitted that the club have experienced a difficult couple of weeks and it was important to secure the win before the season is put on ice once again for another set of international fixtures.
Son acknowledged that the players accept the responsibility for how the supporters have been feeling as a result of recent performances and was pleased to go some way to make amends for what was a tough September on the pitch.
