Video: Thierry Henry admits Spurs star made him ‘get up’ against Arsenal

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry admitted that Erik Lamela’s wondergoal in the North London derby made him ‘get up’.

Henry revealed that irrespective of his loyalty to Arsenal, he was in awe of the Argentine’s audacious rabona effort that found the bottom corner of the goal to put Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 ahead against the run of play.

The Frenchman claimed Lamela would have practised the finish over and over again in training before the moment arrived and praised the 29-year-old for his work on the training ground to be able to have the confidence to attempt the rabona.

Unfortunately for Lamela, that was the highlight of his afternoon after he was dismissed in the second half for a second booking and had to watch his team-mates suffer a 2-1 defeat as they once again missed the opportunity to close the gap on the top four.

Lamela will now be banned for Sunday’s Premier League match against Aston Villa.
