Video: Three Man City stars classy gesture towards Son after final whistle

Manchester City duo llkay Gundogan and Phil Foden were seen consoling a desolate Son Heung-min following the final whistle in yesterday’s Carabao Cup final.

City were completely dominant in the first half but were unable to find a breakthrough owing to a combination of some excellent last-ditch defending from Spurs and some fine saves by Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham gave a better account of themselves in the second half but Pep Guardiola’s men still carried the far greater goal threat and eventually found a winner in the 82nd minute as Aymeric Laporte met Kevin De Bryune’s free-kick with a thumping header into the corner.

City got their hands on the Carabao Cup for a fourth straight season after yesterday’s win but instead of running over to celebrate with their teammates, Gundogan and Foden decided to comfort Son, who was in tears.

Football.London reveals that De Bruyne also made his way towards Son and helped him back to his feet. The pair were then seen having a brief exchange before going their separate ways.
