Video: Tim Sherwood’s firm answer on whether Levy will sack Pochettino

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has claimed that Daniel Levy will never sack Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine has come under the spotlight after managing to win just three of the club’s matches in all competitions this season.

Spurs endured a difficult last week after suffering a heavy 7-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich which was followed by another toothless performance from his players on the south coast against Brighton.

Despite the current poor run of form, Sherwood fully expects the chairman to stand by his manager.

Sherwood was asked the question on talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast this morning and this is what he had to say.

Opinion

Pochettino is under contract in North London until 2023 and is said to earn up to £8.5million a year (Guardian).

Even if Levy did wish to part company with Pochettino, it would be difficult to believe he would pay around £30-odd million to pay up the manager’s contract.

If Pochettino is to leave Spurs, it will be through his own choosing rather than anyone else’s.
