Timo Werner says Spurs training ground is ‘even better’ than he imagined

Timo Werner was extremely impressed by his first look at Hotspur Way, admitting that the training complex was even better than how Ange Postecoglou described it.

Werner became Tottenham’s first capture of the January transfer window earlier this week, with the forward arriving at the club on a six-month loan deal which includes an option to buy for £14.6m (Fabrizio Romano).

The German international will add some much-needed reinforcement to the Spurs attack, with Son Heung-min now away at the Asian Cup.

The former Chelsea man did not set the world alight in his earlier spell in the Premier League but he will be hoping to do better in the other corner of London.

Timo Werner is impressed by Hotspur Way

Spurs have now released behind-the-scenes footage of Wener’s first day at Hotspur Way, which included his medical, tour of the training ground and media duties.

In the video, the forward shed light on his conversation with Postecoglou prior to his move and his first impressions of Hotspur Way.

While Werner admitted Postecoglou told him about the quality of the training facilities, the German striker said Hotspur Way was ‘even better than when you talk about it.’

It is clear from this video that Werner is a great guy and would fit in quite well into the Tottenham dressing room. Postecoglou evidently puts a lot of weight on player’s personalities and it is easy to see why he was impressed by the German.
