Toby Alderweireld believes that Tottenham Hotspur have proven that they can go far in this season’s Champions League following the draw against Barcelona.
Many people had written off Spurs after taking only one point from their opening three matches in Group B.
Spurs conceded two late goals against Inter Milan in the opening game to condemn them to defeat, followed by a further loss to Barcelona and another late goal frustratingly cost them victory away to PSV Eindhoven.
Since then, victories against Inter Milan and PSV, along with a point at the Nou Camp have given the Spurs players belief that they can mix it with Europe’s elite.
They will now turn their attention to Monday’s draw where they will learn of who they will face in the knockout stages.
Spurs fans will be hoping that the club can finally sort out the Belgian’s future at the club with his well publicised contract situation still no closer to being finalised.
