Video: Tottenham pay tribute to Bill Nicholson on his 100th birthday

Tottenham Hotspur have created a video tribute to Bill Nicholson on what would have been his 100th birthday.

As a manager the former wing-half won 11 trophies, including the 1963 European Cup Winners Cup, during his 16 years in charge of the club. In his playing days, Nicholson was part of the famous 1951 ‘push-and-run’ title winning side.

The former Spurs player and manager, who led the club to their famous 1961 double, died in 2004.

Following his death his ashes and those of his wife, more commonly known as ‘Darkie’, were buried under the White Hart Lane pitch and were moved in January of last year to be located under the pitch at the club’s new stadium.

A truly great man who made the club what it is today.
