Spurs captain Heung-min Son is once again leading South Korea in the recent international break, and he’s just put in a blinder of a performance to help his country grab a valuable win.

Sonny strikes again
Time and time again, for both Tottenham and South Korea, Son is the man to turn up with the goods and provide match-winning moments.
He’s now done it again for his country in their World Cup 2026 qualifier Oman, helping South Korea to a late win in a thrilling four-goal spectacle.
South Korea took the lead early on through Wolves star Hwang-hee Chan, but were pegged back just before half-time via an own goal.
Then, in the 82nd minute, Son picked up the ball on the edge of the box, turned his defender with a smart touch, and rifled a stunning left-footed drive into the corner of the goal from just outside the 18-yard box.
It was a typical, trademark effort from the Spurs star, and a goal that sent his teammates, fans, and national media into a frenzy. The win gets South Korea off to a great start in Group B of the Asian qualifying section.

Two assists to cap it off
As if that wasn’t enough, Son also provided the assist for Hwang’s first-half goal, and added another assist in the 11th minute of injury time as Joo Min-kyu extended South Korea’s lead further.
Fellow Tottenham star, Yang Min-hyeok was on the bench for Korea, but failed to make it onto the pitch.
Spurs Web Opinion
Sonny is just ridiculous, isn’t he? Every single time he goes away on international duty he does something incredible for South Korea that just further cements his status as a national icon.
We are so lucky to have him at Spurs, and hopefully he can pull something similar out of the bag on Sunday.
