Video: Tottenham’s Troy Parrott scores a brace in 4-0 win ahead of his N17 return

Troy Parrott scored twice against Heracles on Sunday as Excelsior Rotterdam emerged 4-0 winners at home, with the striker’s loan spell in the Netherlands soon coming to an end.

Parrott has had an impressive season on loan in the Eredivisie, with his latest strikes taking his goal tally to 10 along with four assists in 24 league matches (Transfermarkt).

The 22-year-old, who led the line for Excelsior once again on Sunday, opened the scoring in the dying stages of the first half before doubling the home side’s lead on 66 minutes, finding himself at the right place at the right time to turn the ball home from close range for both goals.

One can see a number of similarities between Parrot and a young Harry Kane, even though the Irishman is not at the same level that Kane was at a similar age.

Like the England captain, Parrott lacks pace but is technically excellent, a great striker of the ball with both feet and is very good at dropping in between the lines and combining with the other attackers.
