Video: Troy Parrott scores impressive chip for MK Dons

Troy Parrott is back on the goalscoring trail for MK Dons having netted an impressive effort during their League One clash against Crewe Alexandra last night.

The Tottenham Hotspur loanee was named in Liam Manning’s starting eleven for the fixture at Stadium MK and broke the deadlock in the 24th minute of the match.

Parrott dropped off the shoulder of the Crewe defender and saw veteran Dean Lewington pick him out with a long ball over the top which the 20-year-old did superbly well to bring under control with one touch and showed great composure to lift the ball over the onrushing Dave Richards.

The forward had not scored for MK Dons since bagging a brace in their 3-1 win against Cheltenham early last month (transfermarkt) but did attract the headlines on the international stage when he scored a stunning late winner for the Republic of Ireland in their friendly against Lithuania.

Parrott’s goal can be seen from 0:44 within the below highlights.

Parrott had natural goalscoring ability but has his work cut out to break into the Spurs first-team anytime soon and has seen Dane Scarlett become highly regarded by Antonio Conte while he has been plying his trade in the lower leagues.
