Mauricio Pochettino was keen to include a number of youngsters against Juventus yesterday in Singapore, including 17-year-old Troy Parrott from the start.

The young Irishman impressed during his first start for Tottenham, holding the ball up well, bringing others into play, and getting in behind himself.

He also seemed confident enough to demand the ball off established first-teamers such as Heung Min Son, which led to Spurs’ opener.

Son laid Parrott in behind, with the Irishman’s shot being well saved by Buffon before Erik Lamela tapped home the rebound.
