Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier and Sergio Reguilon were named joint Men of the Match this evening after their heroics against Newcastle at St James’ Park.
However, neither player was awarded the accolade for their performance on the pitch, rather for their fast reactions and decisive decisions after a Newcastle fan was taken ill in the stands.
Reguilon was the first to spot distress from the crowd and asked the referee to stop the game, while Dier was the one to sprint over and prompt the defibrillator doctor to join the scene.
Sky Sports announced the joint award in the studio after the game:
"It is entirely possible that they have saved someone's life today."

Spurs Web Opinion:
Fully deserved. Those two young men did themselves proud today. The fans, the players, the referee and the medical staff can all be proud of their actions. After all, they likely saved a life this evening.
