Video: UEFA tweet out appreciation for Spurs star

Hugo Lloris has had his fair share of critics this season for the mistakes he has made. A few Spurs even called for Paulo Gazzaniga to replace the Frenchman as Spurs’ No.1 earlier in the season.

However, what is undeniable is the fact that Hugo is still one of the best shot-stoppers in the game. The 32-year-old can come up with reflexive stops, often from point-blank range that most goalkeepers can only dream of.

Lloris’ performance in the second leg of the Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund once again showed how important he can be when he is on his game.

With Dortmund needing an early goal to try and turn the tie around, the France captain refused to be beaten in the first half.

His save from Mario Gotze in particular, was quite outstanding as Lloris clawed the ball away with his fingertips as the German attempted to curl one into the top corner from close range.

The save was so good that the moderators of UEFA Champions League’s official Twitter page decided to relive the save by sharing the video again this week. Check it out below:
