Video: Vinicius jokes he has seen asking team-mate to assist him for some time

Carlos Vinicius has expressed his delight at scoring his first Premier League goal for Tottenham Hotspur.

The Brazilian was handed a rare start by Jose Mourino in Sunday’s top flight match against Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old joked in an interview with the club’s media team following the final whistle at Villa Park that he had been asking Lucas Moura for some time to provide him with an assist.

Moura put in a man of the match display against Dean Smith’s side and played a key role in the club’s opener, having linked well with Harry Kane before cutting the ball back across the six-yard box for Vinicius to tap home.

The former PSG man also played the ball through to Kane which led to the club’s top marksman being fouled in the penalty area which led to the second goal.

Moura has been helping the on-loan Benfica forward settle into life at North London following his switch and even let him stay at his family home before he found a property to move into (Charlie Eccleshare).
